A Review of the Serato Scratch Live

!±8± A Review of the Serato Scratch Live

Serato Scratch Live is a great digital DJ tool that consists of the Serato Scratch Live software, Serato Control and hardware made by Rane. For a start, there are no more heavy record crates to hump around from party to party for the professional mobile DJ, which obviously makes his or her working life a lot easier to cope with. This is due to being able to convert the vinyl into a huge digital music library, which can be transported to work in a laptop or external hard drive. It is the only PCDJ product that remains loyal to the DJ art form. There are no flashy design effects or auto synch facilities which results in the DJ controlling the mix, as opposed to his laptop controlling it.

Serato Control Products.

The purpose of Serato Vinyl, CD or Approved USB Controllers is to be able to beat mix and scratch audio files straight from your hard drive. The Scratch Serato Control Vinyl and Control CD is included in the Serato Scratch Live package. The unique control signal, contained within the Serato CD and vinyl helps to simulate the motion of the CD or record precisely with the digital audio. Meaning that when cueing the disc back and forth it seems that you are actually cueing a vinyl record back and forth.

Scratch Serato - truly is the only digital solution which accurately simulates playing, mixing and scratching vinyl.

A list of approved and certified USB controllers is included below. These are completely compatible with the Serato Scratch Live. The USB controller's display screens are sent the track information from the software. These Scratch Serato USB controllers can be installed with a minimum of fuss.

Serato Approved USB Controllers.

- Pioneer CDJ 400
- Pioneer MEP-7000
- Numark iCDX
- Numark DMC2
- Denon DJ DN HC4500
- Denon DJ DN HD2500

Serato Scratch Live - Vinyl is dead...Long live Vinyl.
